—Valerie Smart, Planning Director, City of Reedsport, OR [Umpqua Riverfront Revitalization Project]

The City of Reedsport and the Port of Umpqua wanted to recapture the sagging tourist industry along that part of the Oregon Coast by creating a tourist destination along the City's all-but-forgotten – yet still very beautiful – Umpqua Riverfront. Following an initial market analysis and master plan development concept phase for 1/2 mile of riverfront, Mr. Glick managed the project’s first phase of design and construction. The effort was planned to capture a larger portion of the burgeoning tourist industry, which traditionally traveled along Coast Highway 101 through, but not to Reedsport. Phase 1 consisted of a mixed-use commercial development including visitor attractions, retail shops, restaurant, coffee shop, boat launch ramp, boardwalks and fishing pier, boat tie-up facility, parking, and access from Highway 38. Mr. Glick managed project planning and design, architecture, engineering, site planning, landscape architecture, and public outreach.
