Waterfront
Yaquina Bayfront Boardwalk
Mr. Glick led development of a master plan, design and construction recommendations for a 1,250 linear foot pedestrian esplanade, railing, pedestrian amenities, and observation platform (site of old “fern plant”) along Bay Boulevard. This pedestrian amenity spans nearly all of Newport's Bayfront as part of a seawall/sewerline project designed to be built underneath the boardwalk. The vision was to create a facility reflective of the site’s open views of the commercial fishing fleet widely known along the west coast for its decades-long coastal fishing village status. The stainless steel cable used in the railing reflects the cables found on many of the fishing vessels. Today the boardwalk gets lots of use, especially by tourists and visitors to this Oregon central coastal town, as shown in the accompanying photo of the Newport Marathon route along the boardwalk. Prime consultant was CH2M Hill of Corvallis, OR.
