Master Planning
Rodeo Lake Park • Vision, Master Plan, Implementation Strategy
Adams County & City of Othello, WA
The Rodeo Lake Project was a challenging effort, aimed at developing a first class park on a 300 acre site, while eliminating some difficult problems for both the County and the City. Rodeo Lake was situated only a few miles south of the Columbia National Wildlife Refuge. The park site includes the lake, wildlife habitat, tourist opportunities, and a host of other recreation and community amenities. More than fifty homes exist on the site, which was inundated several years ago during an especially wet winter, causing septic damage and associated problems. It is intended that the homes will be relocated as part of the park development process, to a new neighborhood planned as part of this project.
