Light Rail Transit Station Design Charette, C-TRAN
Mr. Glick led the design charette for C-TRAN, aimed at developing a uniquely "Vancouver, WA" light rail transit station. C-TRANs stated interest in its own brand, uniquely different and distinctive from other west coast LRT communities, created a challenging design assignment. While there was a desire to have a safe and secure station experience, there was also the objective of creating an inviting, impressive and distinctive station. All participants at the charrette understood that there are regional, cultural and historical influences, such as the Columbia River, the ship building industry, Fort Vancouver, indigenous peoples cultures, historic brick mills, historic downtown brick buildings, local wineries and Mount Hood, all of which influence the identity of the downtown, combining both natural and human influences to form a sense of place.
