Phoenix Valley METRO Light Rail, Urban Design Guidelines
Mr. Glick coordinated the design team responsible for development of a compendium of urban design guidelines for this 25-mile light rail project. The project considered all light rail transit (LRT) corridor features as urban design elements, including those generally considered civil or systems engineering components. Elements included for this project’s desert climate include: system identity; light rail vehicle; overhead catenary system; transitway paving; systems buildings; landscape; shade devices & features; station platform; adjacent activity areas; maintenance & storage facility; track delineation; bus connections; bridges & walls; station furnishings; signage; security; lighting; art; community features; ADA accessibility; and park and rides.
