Light Rail Transit

Downtown Bike Routing Plan • Regional Connector Transit Corridor

Los Angeles, CA

The purpose of this Bike Routing Memorandum, prepared by Mr. Glick, is to identify those streets within Downtown Los Angeles that make the most sense for linking-up with the future Regional Connector Transit Corridor Stations. There is an opportunity to create a bicycle routing network within the downtown, linking to the rapidly evolving light rail system and the future streetcar stations. The goal is to form a new multi-modal “spine”. Visitors, commuters and those who live in downtown may all find benefits from enhanced bicycle use opportunities that link Regional Connector stations to other existing destinations. Since the Regional Connector links the Red Line, Blue Line, Gold Line and Expo line through downtown, many travelers from throughout the Region will be encouraged to take their bikes with them when either commuting or traveling recreationally, thus becoming more self-sufficient.
