New Melones Lake Recreation Facilities Master Plan

Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties, California

Mr. Glick was one of two landscape architects assigned by the Army Corps of Engineers, Sacramento District, to be part of the environmental planning team to prepare the facilities master plan for all recreational facilities around New Melones Lake, a 25 mile long reservoir behind New Melones Dam. At the time, New Melones was the third largest earth and rockfill dam in the world. The shoreline for this project was 100 miles long, with day use recreation facilities including picnicking, parking areas, hiking and equestrian trails, boat launch ramps, swimming beaches, concessions, roads, park entrances, and signage.
