Deferred Maintenance Plan • Pierce County Parks & Recreation

Pierce County, WA

Parks, recreation and open space are key components of the Pierce County lifestyle. The County, as well as the cities and towns within the county, provide a comprehensive system of parks, natural and open spaces, and other natural amenities for organized and spontaneous recreation. The intent of this document is to provide the Department with key information that will help to shape future efforts aimed at keeping the facilities safe, attractive and consistent with the recreational needs and desires of its citizens. Particular attention was given to issues involving both safety and access for people with disabilities. Additionally, the report documents all park amenities that are nearing the end of their useful life and provides cost estimates in order to enable the Department to make a comprehensive request for adequate resources to bring the facilities up to standard. Mr. Glick served as Principal-in-Charge while serving as Planning Director at Core Design.
