Transit Oriented Development

Fort Worth Transportation Alternatives Analysis

Fort Worth, TX

System-wide and city-wide corridor analysis of transit alternatives for light rail, trolley and bus rapid transit opportunities. Primary roles were (a) to locate transit platforms at 29 growth centers throughout the City and downtown Fort Worth; and (b) to evaluate the growth centers for adaptation to fixed rail transit stops through transit station area planning. Fred Glick performed the lead urban design role on the alternatives analysis, especially relative to downtown transit-oriented development and station area planning recommendations, as well as siting the stations. Today, "Molly the Trolley" with two rubber tire vintage trolleys and contemporary buses both serve the downtown area with eleven transit stops.
